Andrew & Hilary warmly invite you to stay at La Vergne, on our family run dairy farm in the heart of the Charentaise countryside. La Vergne is located in the Poitou Charente, South West France. It has a mild climate with over two thousand hours of sunshine per year which makes it a pleasant area to visit at anytime from early spring to late autumn.

The Gite & Chambres d'Hotes are situated on our farm, in rolling meadows with picturesque views of woodland. The surrounding landscape is limitless in its variety, rich with meadows, copse and charming ancient towns. There vast forests of oak and chestnut, fields of sunflowers and vineyards and rivers bordered by mediaeval towns and villages.The pace of life is relaxed and leisurely.

Summer brings long sunny lazy days and warm relaxing evenings.
The splash pools are in constant use and the air is filled with delicious smells of local produced food cooked to perfection and the barbeques are in daily use. The fields of sunflowers are a spectacular sight. The first broods of swallows are receiving flying lesson diving in and out of our barns.
There are fetes and night markets in the local towns and villages and the local attractions are in full swing. There's always plenty to see and do for everyone.
