The Marsh Girls
The last twelve months have been a mixed bag. The girls have worked hard but Alycia and Alex have found the demands of their studies at Lycee have shown up their deficiencies in  the French language especially their gaps in  vocabulary. As their marks stay with them for the rest of their studies and beyond, following discussion with their teachers, it was decided  that the girls should repeat the year and reap the benefits by raising their average marks.  This trimester shows that the decision was the right one with their marks well up on last year. Keep up the good work.
Alycia still enjoys playing her accordion and is progressing well with her music. She plays with two ensembles. Her pistol shooting gives her a chance to escape from her studies and she achieved a silver medal at the departmental championships.

This year Alex celebrated her 18th Birthday  At the departmental championships she was awarded the bronze medal for her shooting. Last week end she commenced her animatrice training which will enable her to be teach ecole de tir.
Meanwhile Eleonore continues to compete for one of the top three places in her class in ALL subjects.  Unfortunately for her the art lessons from last year were discontinued due to lack of interest in the adult classes. However she continues to succeed in both the accordion and shooting.
Hannah is progressing well with her studies having just completed her evaluation for this trimester and her marks are very pleasing. This year Hannah has once again run for her school in the inter school competition and she won the gold medal she also ran against other schools in the area at La Rochfoucauld she came home with a gold diploma. She is progressing well with her drums and is practising hard so that she can join “battucada” this a group of young drummers who need a great sense of rhythm and lots of stamina because they carry and play big heavy drums. The music is exciting and inspirational.
